Director of Payroll Services
Earlinda Bitsoie, Director of Payroll Services for the Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise, first
found out about Navajo Gaming through friends. Starting as an Accounts Payable Clerk, she climbed the ladder to Payroll Supervisor, Payroll Manager and now works as the Director of Payroll Services.
“I was grateful on my 10-year milestone with NNGE,” Bitsoie said. “I am even more grateful to have this opportunity to celebrate this 15-year milestone.”
She said problem-solving and open-mindedness are the top skills she has learned while working at the Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise.
Bitsoie named Christine McLain as one of her mentors on the job.
“Her expertise in gaming and her mentorship to assist and provide insightful feedback and support are admirable,” Bitsoie said.
Bitsoie grew up in Naschitti and Tohatchi, New Mexico. Her clans are Todik’ozhi (mother clan), Honaghaanii (father clan), Todich’ii’nii (maternal grandfather) and Ashiihii (paternal grandfather).
The biggest challenge Bitsoie has faced at NNGE was the responsibility of solely processing payrolls for all of NNGE, FRNC, FWNC, and NENC.
“My job was clearly defined to ensure that our payroll was accurate, and it was necessary to meet tight deadlines,” she said. “Long hours were spent on having my colleagues paid in a timely manner.”
Bitsoie said she believes one of the best benefits of working for Navajo Gaming is the chance for professional development opportunities and growth. She recommends anyone who is starting with Navajo Gaming to explore and pursue the many opportunities being offered.
Now living in Arizona, she would like to move closer to her family in New Mexico. In her spare time, Bitsoie enjoys cooking, making crafts, golfing and relaxing.
