Meet Wasey Sam.

Wasey’s home chapter is Coyote Canyon, New Mexico. He is Bit’ahnii (Folded Arms People Clan) born for Tsi’naajinii (Black Streak Wood People Clan.) Maternal Grandfather is Ta’neeszahnii (Tangle Clan) and Paternal Grandfather is Kin l itsonii (Yellow House People Clan.)

In May, 2019, he graduated from the University of New Mexico – Gallup Branch, earning an Associate Degree, Business Administration. Wasey enrolled in the Anderson School of Business at the UNM in Albuquerque, NM., to pursue a Bachelor degree in Business Administration/Accounting.

Wasey joined Navajo Gaming at Fire Rock Casino as cage cashier then moved to revenue audit clerk. After a two-year absence he returned to NNGE with Twin Arrows as a revenue audit clerk. To be closer to family he transferred to Fire Rock and now is a Junior Accountant.

He tells us, “My favorite thing about NNGE is the job opportunities. Employees can transfer to other open positions at sister properties: Twin Arrows, Northern Edge or Flowing Water. Or within the property to a different department.”

As for building success Wasey mentions, “advice that was given to me about being successful was you have to better yourself and make yourself valuable.” He adds, “we do this by educating ourselves.” Adding, “Albert Einstein sums it up with his quote: Try not to become a man of success. Rather become a man of value.”
