05 Feb Meet Lamar Desiderio

Lamar is Kinyaa’aanii (Towering House) born for Ta’néészahnii (Tangle People).
Maternal Grandfather is Tó’áhaní (Near the Water) and Paternal Grandfather is Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water). His home Chapter is Church Rock.

Lamar started his career at Fire Rock Casino as a Revenue Audit Clerk, promoted to Accountant and finally to his current position as Revenue Audit Manager. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and ultimately his Master of Business Administration, emphasis Entrepreneurship, from New Mexico State University.

His favorite thing about working at Fire Rock is the co-workers at all the properties, the employee benefits and the Navajo Gaming sponsored events for employees and the community. “There is plenty of opportunity and growth within the enterprise,” he says.

Lamar’s advice to others to be successful is, “Be willing to adapt to change and be resourceful. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.” He adds, “One of the hardest things to do is ask for help, but, you will be surprised when you can identify this weakness how people are willing to support you to achieve your goals.”
