Meet Henry Benally

Henry’s home Chapter is Red Mesa, Utah. He is Oozéí Táchii’nii (Hopi- Red Running into the Water clan) born for Tódich’ii’nii (Bitter water Clan); Maternal Grandfather is T ł ‘ízí Daałchí’í (Red goat Clan) and Paternal Grandfather is Kin ł ichii’nii (Red House Clan.) Henry started with Northern Edge as a Security Officer then promoted to Security Supervisor. He is presently training for Casino Shift Manager.

Henry is an important part of our 1,200-member workforce. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice at New Mexico Highlands University and will pursue his Master’s degree in Business Administration with Highlands. He is a current member of the New Mexico National Guard and has served for 12 years. Henry deployed to Iraq in 2009 – 2010.

As for working for Navajo Gaming, Henry says, “There are many positive things about working for NNGE, but one outlook for me is the opportunities offered to explore careers within the enterprise, learning about each department’s role and getting to know the employees that travel from various parts of the Navajo Nation. He adds, “NNGE encourages each employee to develop their knowledge and give the younger generation an opportunity to intern within the Enterprise to receive real-life experience in the departments they choose to pursue future endeavors.”

On being successful, he says “Continue to do your job and help one another be successful as a team and individual. Keep a positive mind, attitude, and continue to strive to better yourself every day.” Henry adds, “Set realistic short- and long-term goals you can achieve and reward yourself from time to time. Always thank your family and loved ones as they are one of many pillars to your future success.”
